Spotlight
Representative Andrew Clyde (R-GA) introduced the Medicaid Funds Integrity Act to prevent the Biden administration from using Medicaid funds for gun control initiatives. The bill gained immediate support from 26 Republican co-sponsors and key Second Amendment organizations.
The legislation directly challenges Biden’s September executive orders that would allow states to use Medicaid funding for firearm safety counseling. Hunter King, political affairs director of the National Association for Gun Rights, stated that using “federal funds to support gun violence prevention programs under Medicaid is a gross misuse of taxpayer dollars.”
The bill has received endorsements from Gun Owners of America and the National Association for Gun Rights, reinforcing its significance in protecting Second Amendment liberties and ensuring proper use of healthcare funds.
