In recognition of Sliver Star Service Day, Trident 1 would like to highlight our COO, former Navy SEAL, Petty Officer First Class, Daniel Peterson.

Daniel received the Silver Star for his heroic actions while serving as Team Leader in the Logar District of Afghanistan in 2014.
His citation reads: For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy on 21 May 2014 as a Reconnaissance Team Leader in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Demonstrating poise and bravery, Petty Officer Peterson advanced through heavy enemy fire to save the lives of two grievously wounded teammates. Disregarding the risk to his own safety, he held the enemy’s attention to allow two teammates to seek cover, and then engaged and suppressed one enemy position despite the machine gun and rocket-propelled grenade fire pouring in on him from a second enemy position.

See attached for full citation.…

Thank you Daniel for you service, sacrifice and continued leadership! 🇺🇸

A major salute and congratulations to our CEO, Jake Newbold for his induction into the Ohio Military Hall of Fame. Twenty-seven inductees will mark 24 years for the Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Valor as the the hall of fame is set hold its 24th annual induction, May 5, at the Ohio Statehouse Atrium in Columbus.
Among the inductees to be recognized for exceptional valor and decorated heroics during duty is Columbiana County’s Jacob Newbold.
Newbold, who is from Salineville and currently resides in Texas, is a United States Navy Seal, who earned the Bronze Star Medal with “V” for his heroics while as Senior Enlisted Advisor for District Stability Platform Muhammed Agha, Special Operations Task Force-Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom on June 8, 2014. The Bronze Star Medal with the “V” device to denote heroism is the fourth highest military decoration for valor.
According to his citation provided by Ted Mosure, President of the Ohio Military Hall of Fame Board of Directors, Newbold distinguished himself through heroic action and decisive leadership during a raid into Burg Village. He led his element to secure a command and control position on an exposed ridgeline to effectively command the combined operation. He repeatedly dismounted from his armored vehicle under heavy enemy fire in order to communicate critical information with the Afghan Ground Force Commander. In order to allow a partner force element pinned by insurgent machine-gun fire to maneuver, he led an element within 20 meters of an enemy machine-gun nest. As his vehicle’s heavy weapon jammed, he dismounted the vehicle and engaged an insurgent with a hand grenade as the insurgent prepared to fire a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) at the vehicle. Newbold’s grenade badly wounded the insurgent and caused the RPG to narrowly miss his vehicle.
Jake, we are honored to have you as our CEO and we thank you for your contribution to our country.

While Kyle Westmoreland is best known for his impressive golfing skills, many people may not be aware that he also served in the United States Air Force prior to pursuing his career as a professional golfer.

Despite facing numerous challenges and dangers during his time in the military, Kyle credits his experience with helping him develop important skills such as discipline, perseverance, and leadership which have been invaluable throughout his golfing career.
